How do you decide?

I'm curious as to how you decide which stone your going to use for what your trying to heal. Do you use a particular book to help you find the right stone? If so what is the title? I have only used the web to find information, but I've noticed that different web sites say different things for different stones. I guess I'd like to have a reference guide that is legit and that other people reccomend for choosing stones for healing. Thanks in advance!

sis Melody's (love is in the earth) is the one i use for crystal healing classes
there is a book called the crystal bible i dont have this one i here it is good also

thses are your best bet as far as info goes sis the one i use will keep you looking for days at stuff and you will do what i do lol

man i need that stone ....wow ok that one would be awsome in my collection...... holy cow where can i find this one at.

that is my only disclaimer sis you may spend soem cash when you see what some of these babie swill help you with lol
check any new age store or barns and noble ok.

I will have to look into those books. I am just like you say.. when you read of a stone you instantly want it..lol. I'm to the point now I see certain individuals with an interesting piece of jewelry and I have to ask what it is and want to look up it's healing qualites. Thanks for the information!

Actually I more often than not go on what I feel/know to be what is needed. Intuition is good. But if you want books I recommend "Love Is In The Earth by Melody" and her supplemental books along with the Mineralogical Pictorial that goes along with the first mentioned book. "The Book of Stones" is also another good one. The Crystal Bible is also a very popular book.

I will say this to you about uses for stones/crystals. There is no wrong use of any of them. Each person working with a crystal may come up with something new that it may be used to treat, etc. that no other person working with that crystal has stumbled upon. Just because only one person mentions that a crystal is used for a specific purpose does not make it illegitimate. It shows what that one person worked on with a specific crystal/stone and had success. That also comes with trusting the information that you get from the crystal as well as trusting your own intuition. It really is a hard thing to do. ;)

I always suggest that when you first get a stone/crystal that you work with that stone for a month. If you take a month to work with one specific stone/crystal you really get to know it. I do this quite often, and I still learn new things about some old friends.

Also, I found that sometimes when you put a stone away for awhile and then go back to it later you will learn something new that it has to teach you. Sometimes it is something new that it can be used to help treat or a new "use". ;)

So, even though you will get different information on a specific crystal/stone it only means that you now know of more than one way that it can be used or more than one thing it can help treat. It will add to your knowledge.

The best way to find out what a crystal/stone is best for is to work with it and see what it tells you. :)
