Healing Energies for Strangers

I've always been one to say a prayer and send my healing energies out to people at different times, even though I don't know them. For instance, if I see a car accident or a person I notice on the streets that seems to be in despair; I will say a prayer for them and send them my healing energies. Many of them, of course, are complete strangers, but I feel as though I'm doing the right thing.
Lately, I've been asked by quite a few people 'why do you pray for strangers and send your energies their way when they're not even aware of it and possibly don't even appreciate it'.
I'm a bit hurt by this question wondering why wouldn't a person that holds such precious gifts like ourselves not share this with a complete stranger. It's not like I'm stopping and doing this to their face, but I do it in my own way to somehow help them.
Am I alone in doing this? Does anyone else here ever see a situation like a car accident or something while passing by and do their own personal prayer and send healing energie their way?
Some say I'm too, too nice and need to save my energies.
What do some of you think?

I dont think you are too kind or that you are wasting your energies. Even when the person isnt consciously aware of the help, their higher self is. As a Reiki practioner, I have sent alot of energies to strangers.

In this matter, I was advised in two differant directions and I have yet to work out the truth but I am leaning now towards caution. The first states that we are all one and therefore all healing energy heals the whole. Sort of that the individual isnt as important as the overall consciousness. I wanted to believe this and in a way still do.. but

The other teaching states that we choose to go thru challenges in order to grow and healing without permission denies that growth and therefore is a violation of another's free will.

Overall, I believe that respecting another's free willl is paramount to all other considerations. How many times have we been maniputated by another 'for our own good'? I'm not willing to comprimise my spiritual integrity in that way.

I hope this has helped you. Ultimately, no matter what you decide, as long as your actions align with divine love and wisdom you will remain in alignment with your spiritual path.

Thank you Diane and I think you are absolutely right!
I, too, have heard of two different directions on this; but in the long run agree with you on the statment "how many times have we been manipulated by another for our own good?" I'm not at all trying to violate another's free will; I just feel as though when sending these positive energies for a stranger; I'm healing other's and myself at the same time. I believe through different vibrations of energies we can all learn something from one another. And, there are times we can't always get the other person's permission. . .

Good for you MatthewJ!
Especially being in NYC where there are many, many people who need positive energies and prayers. I'm in upstate NY ~ completely different world from NYC!
But I believe it a beautiful, wholesome feeling that not only I feel but that the strangers feel through my energies sent.
We can't heal them completely but at least it's our considerations, thoughts and prayers that makes life a bit easier and feels better too.

I do this too, and I really enjoy the feeling that I might have been able to be a conduit for a little help. When I was little, my (Catholic) mother would do the sign of the cross whenever she saw an accident, and I always thought it was beautiful that she wanted to send healing energy, but I didn't respect the sign of the cross anymore. Reiki lets me carry on that intent of sending positive energy to someone who needs it without tainting it with religion. And, of course, with Reiki, if they don't want it, it will just wait there nearby in case they change their minds, but Reiki would never intrude.

I was told by my grandmother that when you see or hear that a person is not doing good always send prays. Each day for the last 40 years (after my gramdmother passed) I have made sure I look for a person that needs prays and send healing to all on this earth and most of all healing to our mother earth, So I'm with you do the prays !!
I think it is away for all healer to work.

It does not matter if they appreciate it or not if you become aware of a problem it is in some way your issue and it is quite proper for you to offer energies the intended recipiants Higher self will accept if it accords wiht the best good of that person. You never lose by offering compassionate energies and well wishing others.
I have done this for decades now and am much blessed. it is important that you do not try to force a specific result with your energies

I too send energy out - to the whole planet, to the community, to friends, strangers - all. Those who feel you need to 'save energy' are unaware of the fact that we can create energy and do constantly. the human body receives energy, sends energy, has a resevoir of energy and can create energy.

You are not only helping others but also reaffirming your connection to all and that helps you to remember who and what you are - a spiritual, energetic being in a physical body. Lots of folks have forgotten that and even those who remember have this notion the spiritual and physical are separate - they are not.

i think we cant save our energy you dont send personal energy you rsend free energy so if prayers are free and the energy is free i sey send like no tommorow every lil bit helps and if you are the one that gives just that lil bit and they never know that your angles went to lend a hand with theres or that your floating loving healing there way

i sey who cares what others think do what is right for your own heart i do (damm the torpedos) its not a matter if they apprecate it or not if they are in need do what you can i am sure they will thank you and there angles will remind them when you meet on the other side ( hey that guy/gal sent a prayer or some healing when you were in need and they walk up and sey thank you to you)
