I am so excited to be going to a Sacred Healing Drum making workshop in a few weeks, and I would like to put a gemstone or two within the weaving. I thought of adding a Clear Quartz, but are their any others that would be beneficial to add?
Thanks Rick,
I think I am wanting to use my drum in help develope my spiritual connection and for the healing vibrations the drum provides. Would the gems you mentioned work for that? I am still learning what each stone is best used for.
My way of making drums is very different from your, I try not to mix the pray that go into the drum, I first do the pray for the animal life and for the tree. I add my medicine wheel into my drum. I can tell you when I have made a drum for healing I call to mother earth, North ,East, South, west and spirit, for the healing that the person need. At times I may hold a crystal or stone when I drum someone for a healing.
I do not put stones into the drum, If someone I work on does not need that stone then I'm not helping. Sometimes I drum with a feather to help take things away from people and sometimes I use herbs.
This is just my way I just find it easy to add by holding than try to take out a stone that may not be good for all.
May the sun always be on the path you walk.
clear quartz is simple i don't see why not go with it, but considering the natural energy of the drums sound chiastolite might be a good choice since it is in tune with the energy of the four directions and has a low vibration pulsating energy.
Of all the crystals I use, I find that Moldavite from the Licenise Strewn Field is the most powerful for healing and interrelationships that I have ever used. These can be found rough or faceted online under "search:Moldavite"

Did you make your drum? What stones did you end up using?
I immediately heard Ruby as soon as I read the question. Some people consider Ruby to be a master stone, used in healing, opening the heart & lucid dreaming. Good also to regulate the heart.

I almost forgot, many use the power of the SUN to warm the water, in herbal remedies, I suppose this could be used in tandem with a crystal, since the light empowers and Charges both. The making of "Sun Tea" comes to mind.
Some believe that there are two worlds. The "Real world" some would define as the world or space we exist in now, others would argue that the 'Spirit World" is the real world and we are simply travellers on a Sojourn to that destination.

I have moved away from this a bit to far, I carried a Tiger eye to "Make me invisible to my enemys" In times of war.
I carried a cristal around my neck close to my dogtags to gain clear sight. (a room member now owns this stone)
I have found that "V…
I boil the water to sterilize it FIRST, so it does not go "bad". Herbs should be steeped, never boiled, this can distroy their healing properties. Enough heat to remove and empart essential oils is all you need. You are dealving into ancient Europea…
