I have worked a few crystal skull. I can tell if the carver made the skull the way the crystal was growing . If a carver made the skull with the top of the point of the crystal into the top of head of the skull. The skull can be open and work the best. If it was made another way the skull is not going to give off the best energy. Carvers that take the time and look for the face of the skull in the crystal always to me have the best work. Sometimes carvers are new or just trying to take care of the family and love just is not in the skull.
When you first get a skull find out by holding it if the skull was carver the way the crystal was growing . I have find over time the older the crystal the best energy comes from the skull. Also crystals that come from deep in the earth are always on of the best energy crystals . Yes the caver does make a the energy become different. But with it carved the way the crystal was grwoing the skull is a great one and easier to work with.
For all of the crystal skull care keeper keep up the good work and this skull are going to help all to open up to a higher vibration. I wish all of light as you walk your path.
