This is Tanzanite.

The pictures are beautiful. It is hard to find un-heat treated pieces because the heat really intensifies the blue color.

My mother has a 5 caret one in a pendent. I realy love this piece it almost hums in my hands.

I thought it was blue topaz at first. Silly me. I have looked in my crystal book and agree with these clever people and think this is tanzanite.

looks like tanazanite to me
